Hmm, I love them, but they lack the "romanticism" of the early American ones, imho.
    Lambert of Montaigu - Crusader.

    Bolgios - Mercenary Game.

      My favorite was High Chaparral.

I used to watch WWW all of the time when I was a kid. Never missed an episode, but now I can barely remember any of it....

Open Range is a good one...gives a feeling of the wide open spaces. Story line has been repeated more than once. I've watched this film at least four times and well do so again

Gotta agree with all the nominations above...everyone thinks I'm nuts because old western movies and series are always baby sitting me at home.

I seldom miss Wagon Train, Wanted Dead or Alive, Have Gun will Travel, and so forth.

The Sacketts Series are favorites too.

Don't hold it against them Eric, It was filmed in Canada, when there wasn't snow on the ground.

                                Undoubtedly the best Western is....

Lonesome Dove!! Worth every minute of the six or so hours it takes to watch. I wish it was longer!

Robert Duval and Tommy Lee Jones are perfectly matched and a joy to watch.

Rick Schroeder turns in a surprisingly strong performance.

And if the series isn't enough the book is great also!

                                Other Westerns?

Silverado, Fort Apache, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon and Open Range off the top of my head.
