I wouldn't minimize the role that court jester play especially when you consider how poorly clothed Barack Obama was.

George Friedman, Richard H. Thaler (and other behavioral economists), Nathan Myhrvold and others who promote evidence based policies. Mostly people who's efforts do not depend on or promote specific ideologies.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.

Dispite our best intentions, the system is dysfunctional that intelligence failure is guaranteed.

I tend to rate inventing the H-bomb a bit higher than this...

Or... maybe not. Harpo was a real weapon.

Just a reminder guys:- Don't ever put yourself down by thinking that so-called "intellectuals" are better than us!
Remember, a fool with a diploma is still just a fool, that's why the world is in such a mess because a lot of the intellectual "elite" who run it couldn't run a lemonade stand..
A scene in an ST episode went something like this-
Picard- "Pay attention to your tutors at the Academy but also make sure you seek out Mr. X".
Young cadet- "Is he a tutor?"
Picard- "No he's the gardener and I learned a lot from him about many things"
