  • The Best Chase Scenes

I was debating limiting the thread to car chases, but that's too confining; plenty of others come to mind. So, best chases....including cars. I think my first nominations are pretty typical of me. Two scenes, same movie. :

Side note: I've been to Daley Plaza more times than I can count.

Having done this in real life (foot pursuit of criminals), I find this the most intense and realistic foot chase scene ever:

      Narc

          +1 No question about it.

This one from Ronin is pretty good as well.

Bullitt set the bar; it helps when you've got a lead actor that can drive. I think the Bourne series had a few darn good ones.

Chargers always get the role of anti-hero/villain don't they? This is still one of the best car scenes, period, in all of film; despite the rest of the film. Love the wheel-stand! But I'm not a mopar man myself.

The realistic thing about the Bourne car chases is that they show complete realism. By the end of the chase scene in Moscow, Bourne's vehicle is a smoking wreck, instead of looking brand new as it always does in the Transporter films, for example.

The other reason it always appears realistic is because it follows the same format as Cloony did in that Mercedes in Peacemaker - combat driving using the vehicle as a weapon.

And then there is this one:

The driving scenes in The Italian Job were excellent as well.
