  • More than a Dummies book.

I am looking for a book on WWII that can be a good description of the war, not focusing in great depth on individual battles. I'm not looking for a Dummies book or Cliff notes or the like but something can give me a sense of the flow with good insights into the various battles. Despite having read dozens of books on the war I feel there are gaps in my knowledge and I'm hoping that I can find a book that let's me see where I need to read more.

    Ideas?

Honestly posting questions here will get you a better overview than any book.

You could start with something like, what were the most significant battles in the Eastern, Western and Pacific fronts? You can probably think of better questions and should search the site first to see what is already available.

The Times Atlas of WW2 is about the best overview of that conflict that I own. A picture is worth a thousand words, and it has plenty of words as well.

      This one is a steal : https://www.worldofbooks.com/en-gb/b.../9780723003175

Normally I wouldn't consider a book of that type but if you recommend it I'll give it a look. Thanks.
