  • The Sayings of Muhammad(forward by Mahatma Ghandhi)

    I came across this book,

    http://books.google.com/books?id=ScX...page&q&f=false

which reports some of Muhammads sayings and I like what I had to see. Could one imagine what it must have been like to live during the times of Muhammad and to hear what this man by the name Muhammad had to say. I feel that many folks around the world, Muslim or non Muslim could learn from not only folks like Jesus(Isa) and Moses(Musa) but Muhammad as well.

I especially enjoyed the following quote ,

Whoever suppresseth his anger, when he hath in his power to show it, God will give him great reward.

    more,

When the bier of anyone passeth by thee, whether Jew, Christian, or Muslim, rise to thy feet.

My only problem with 'the Hadeeth' is the same problem I have with the New Testament; i.e. after the death of both prophets, which 'Books' and which 'Hadeeths' are deemed 'correct' has been a bit subjective and subject to horse-trading as happened at the Council of Nicea and subsequent Hadeeths have been accepted and rejected, not always objectively. Having said that the vast body of work is essentially good and further scholarship is ongoing to pull the rest into shape.
