      Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.

        For me, nothing beats Civ 2, period. It's way better than 3. I didn't play 4 that much. Loved 5. Haven't tried out 6 yet. But my heart belongs to Civ 2. It was the very first strategy game I had, and oh boy what a treat it was to play this game.

        Once the price goes down on Civ 6, I'll get it.

            II remains my favorite still. Mostly haven't had time to learn the others well enough to replace it. Have a game in progress when I can find the time to play.
