  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Confirmed

It's official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Has been been confirmed to be release next year.

The sixth CoD game was already confirmed to be under Infinity Ward's wing (and not World at War dev Treyarch), but this news thankfully confirms that number six isn't the rumoured sci-fi spin-off we were dreading.

2013 I'm going into West Point if it kills me. 2017 (or 2012 depending on West Point) I'm joining the Airborne if it kills me and it actually might.

CVG is not a very reliable source, and neither is MTV. It'll be confirmed if & when Activision posts a press release. Let's hope it's so!

I was under the impression this was definaelty a go? It seems the norm now that Treyarch and Infinity Ward take turns in making each Call of Duty. I really hope they take the premise of 4 a little further and don't simply make a sequel set in the same time/area. A not to distant future with some "beefed up" weapons would be brilliant.

Yeah, you can see the trailer on IGN. Modern Warfare 2 would/will be a great game.

Probably my favourite FPS francise. I know its cool to jump on the bandwagon lately but I really am starting to tire of the WW2 settings. I loved the premise of Modern Warfare, im sure this will be just as good.

This is the trailer incase no one has seen it yet:-

Here is a rundown of the possible perks and hints taken from the trailer:-

Don’t get me wrong CoD is a good FPS but some of what is allowed turns me off, long range pistols for one, and everybody gets one. I am referring to Cod5 now.

Having played, Delta Force and Rainbow Six I prefer them hands down but I like the format that Cod uses for the most part for map rotation. Some of the perks I can’t say I like but show me someone who is completely happy with any game.
One life so make it a happy one, it truly is too short to **** away.

Why we will not play 'MW2' at our PC clan ...

As you know by now, Infinity Ward will not have dedicated servers for
'MW2'. Despite their spin, the fact of the matter is that this is all about control and money. (surprise!)

I'm one of the admin at our PC 'FPS' clan called 'RAW: Rebels at War Old Farts Tactical COD:WaW'. We have over 100 members and are one of the top 28 servers of over 3,000 playing this game online, according to Gametracker. We had over 70 copies of MW2 pre-ordered until we found out about what IW was doing. All of these pre-orders have been cancelled, and we will not be playing this game on our servers in Chicago.

I have included here a link to a post of someone concerning this issue if you wish to learn the details about why P2P servers are vastly inferior to 'dedicated' ones:

This game has endangered my GPA for this term...

Truly epic storyline, almost too complex...

The Online is pretty decent too. Much of the same as the previous titles, but some new features...

Worth the loot, that's for sure...
