  • Rainbow Six Vegas

Ubisoft's next tactical shooter will take place in good ol' Sin City, and from what I saw in the trailers, it's received a major graphical upgrade. Alas, though, our favorite 'Ding' Chavez and his team have retired, I guess. R6 Vegas introduces a new team of only 3 operatives. Check it out!

i think i'm one of the few that really like lockdown, i think the gameplay and graphics rock. i'm not so happy with the limited weapon selection and team selection like the other R6 games, but i still enjoyed it alot. i'm looking forward the R6 vegas, i just hope it gets more support from ubi soft than lockdown did.

Actually watching the trailer again maybe I spoke too soon. This looks like it's just an amazing looking scaled back lockdown. I'll just stay with rainbow six 3

"A new team of only three operatives"...?

Is this realistic? I understand the whole R6 cocnept is based off of a novel, but it's a Clancy novel... and he typically grounds his stuff in reality. Is it feasible for a counter-terror team to operate with only 3 folks?
Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated... again...

Depends on the situation and the objectives. For SF-Op, sure... but its rather unlikely when it comes to a "Blue" police like hostage situations and the rescue of civilians in general. Its basically all about preparation and what you want to achive.

I would however question the large number if women in this elite outfit. Rear area specialists is one thing, but in the operator role?

Btw has Clancy ever written anything more on the Rainbow team? Clarke and Chavez have turned up now and then, but nothing in the shape of rainbow of what I have read.

Not that I'm aware of... shame, too, because Rainbow 6 is one of my favorite books.

Well remember that in the novel R6 was a large organization and team. There were a lot of characters in the book and in the original games they had the entire team to choose from to make your actual entry team.

And it ought to stay that way. When you allow for only three characters, the replay value plummets drastically. I bet I took 6 different teams through the first R6 game, made for some fond memories.
