  • River Crossing Recon Tabletop Game AAR

I recently was granted the use of the kitchen table by my wife so I was able to set up a quick skirmish game of Nuts! using my 1/72 scale figures and terrain. The scenario was a river crossing recon as well as the village on the far side and to eliminate any Germans in the area.

You can see my blog entry on the setup for the battle here:

    Nuts! Recon Scenario Setup

Then you can follow the action of Sgt. Burner and his squad here:

Your wife is very understanding, better hang on to her.

Nice set-up. Looks like it is easy to set up and change as you scenarios change. Flexability is a asset when creating these game terrains. We got tired of some of out perminant terrains and since it was all glued down nothing could be changed much. Which was a real drag when we got tired of the map.

What do you use to create the hills?

The house looks scratch built. Will they hold a soldier?

    Thanks for posting

I've always wanted to go to Switzerland to see what the army does with those little red knives.

      Thanks J_S.

The flexability of the terrain mat is great and I can create different terrain to change it how I want.

For the hills I just put DVD cases under a blanket you can see it in post on the scenario set up.

All the houses are scratch build with lift off roofs. With the exception of a the burned out house which you can stick figures in. You can find my tutorial on how I built it here:
