  • Where should the next Interactive Tactical Simulation take place? You decide!

After much discussion there will be significant changes to the next Interactive Tactical Simulation.
    • The simulation will be handled in plain English. Game mechanics will be handled behind the scenes and should be invisible to the players.
    • Tactics will be decided by a public vote. Anyone can drop in or out as they like. You can contribute by posting in the game, by voting, or just by following along. There is no minimum commitment and everyone is welcome.
    • Discussion will be handled in open forum. There will be no teams so folks are encouraged to discuss what is going on in the game and what strategies/tactics should follow.
This poll will be open for two weeks. That will give us time to talk about what we want to do, for people to notice something is happening, and for me to get set up.

    So where shall we go?

The German players would love to kick some butts at the Bulge after we take Stalingrad.

I chose East Front. But I will do battle where ever you all decide to have it.

This should be very interesting IMHO.

The Battle of the Twente Canal

By late evening the company was in a desperate situation, surrounded on all sides by Germans. Most of the company had taken refuge in a small farm house and a larger barn-like structure. Their only choice was to call artillery fire in on their own position. The strategy worked. The Germans, being outside the structures, absorbed the brunt of the artillery.

Well, I can get you close. And it would give me an excuse to order a scenario pack.

5 April 1945..... While the Canadian centre and right flank were making rapid progress north of Twente Canal the Canadian 3rd Division, on the left sector, was preparing to capture Zutphen and Deventer. The German Infantry Division 361, reinforced with a parachute training battalion of Parachute Division 6 defended the eastern approaches of Zutphen. The 9th Canadian Brigade encounter stiff resistance on the approach to the town and was slowly ground to a halt by the stubborn defenders, many of them "teen-aged" youngsters. The morning of 5 April brought a renewed attacked by the 9th Canadian Brigade. Launching a two-pronged thrust with the North Nova Scotia Regiment on the right and Highland Light Infantry of Canada on the left, supported by the tanks of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers and Crocodiles of the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry, the Canadians took up the attack towards Zutphen...

Ok. I think I see what is going on now. So, to participate we really don't have to know all the rules to ASL, we just issue orders and you handle the rules part?

Did this work well the last time you did it?

I went with Pegasus Bridge. It not something I know a great deal about and doing the research for my decisions is half the fun, at least it worked that way for the General's Draft!

That's why we want to start a new game Miss, people got too much involved in the rules last time and we want to try to avoid that in the new one.
