New Site - PLEASE READ

Hello All,
My name is Ashley and I am the one that moved the forum to its new hosting location. This was done for security reasons and try to keep the forum from going down every other day. I understand that the new forum looks very different from the old one but I promise almost everything you had before you still have it might just be in a different place.

Items that are gone due to a limitation of the new hosting/ forum update:
- Awards
- Flags

As I was going thought your posts I was able to fix a lot fo the issues you were listing. Below is kind of a running list of issues an what is fixed and what I am still working on.

Items that I have fixed from your comments:
- Smilie are now working.
- Color/Theme changes
- Signature are now showing up. (Here is how to edit them https://screencast.com/t/OJHzzhiV1)
- Ranking is now showing up.
- Private messaging is now working.

Some issues I am still working on are:
- Missing items from the Calendar
- Like button the posts is giving an error.

One other note I have seen a lot is theme/color related items. I know this is important to all of you but at the moment the most important thing was getting you back a functioning forum with as many features I can get you back from before.

Theme/color is something we can change but it the moment I do not have the time and resources to fix all of the issue and design the site. I did do some theme updates yesterday but it is very time consuming. Please just be patient with the forum as we get it back to as close as I can to what you had before.

If anyone has any issues that they are running in to please let me know in the post below. Please give me as much detail as possible .

  • Divine Right - Fantasy Wargame

    Hi all.

I played an original version of Divine Right waaaaaay back, and I now have the same person that was my roommate back then living with me again now. We were reminiscing about some of the great games we used to play (anyone remember Battle Isle on the Amiga?) and Divine Right came up.

I did a little googling and found out there was a 25th anniversary edition released. Unfortunately, Ebay doesn't have any good quality copies (or copies that aren't $500+ US), so I was wondering if anyone might know a store or hobby shop that might have a copy of either version? (Or if anyone has a copy themselves that they might be willing to sell...)

I would love to try and get a game of this going - any resources or info would be most appreciated!

In case anyone is interested, I have heard that Excalibur is working on a reprint they expect to have out by the end of 2016. There is some trepidation in the community about this due to previous issues with this publisher, so feelings are mixed, but generally the hope is that this game will see a re-release in the future.

    FYI!

There is a nicely done Vassal module of Divine Right, with Vassal you can play other people online. And you can find several version of the rules in the file section on Board Game Geek.

Our game club played this several times back in the early 80s.

        Fantastic game!

            Thanks for the info!

I managed to get an unopened 25th anniversary edition of the game through Ebay, so I'm happy how it all turned out. (Still have yet to play it! )

Divine Right was my first strategy level empire game - not counting Risk for obvious reasons. I spent hours as a preteen playing this with my Dad in the late 1980s.

Just a month or two ago my wife found a copy (not the anniversary edition) at a second hand store. I haven't checked that the parts are all there, but the condition looks to be very good - the chits seem to have barely been handled. Not bad for $1.99 Canadian plus tax.

I want to play sometime - for old time's sake if nothing else.

$1.99! Pretty good deal! I think I paid $80 or $90 for this one, so that worked out pretty good for you!
