It's 2005. The situation begins with an increase in Taliban suicide bombers. Young Afghan men are resisting what they view as a foreign invasion. Pakistan is currently backing the Taliban.

There is a power shuffle. Karzai disarms and reintegrates Warlord militia in Kadahar, Konduz, Farah, Nuristan, and Balkh.

The Warlord Faction rallies support in a number of provinces.
The Taliban lose control of Nuristan because of this.
The Warlords also start cultivate Baghlan province.

The Taliban increase their use of IED.

The Coalition trains a large number of government troops and police in Kabul.
Civic action creates support for the government in Khowst.
Then there is a surge and Coalition bases and troops are placed in Konduz and Khowst.
Looks like the counterinsurgents are getting ready for some action.

The Warlords spend resources to rally guerrillas and then replenish by trafficking.
The map is mostly government troops and police, and warlord bases and guerrillas. The Coalition has three bases and plentiful troops with the surge.
Kabul is pretty much wall to wall counterinsurgency units.
The Taliban are a non issue so far but they are building their potential capabilities.

The Government is still training troops and police.
After transferring profits to the Government the Warlords must traffic to build resources back up.
The Taliban is building capabilities still. They are currently forging ID cards.
There has been fratricide in Helmand province. The Warlords have had their base and guerillas removed leaving the province entirely under Taliban control.

I'm going to drop this project as it is dependent on two other players. The game is going really well, and is fun. It's just a very slow pace. I may start a solitaire game and do a play by play on that.
