Got it. May we please have a list of all the countries who are in play and their respective leaders? Also, how much of Europe is in play for this game?

By re-purposing some of the unspent " use it or lose it" stimulus money from its 2010 budget Canada has began some modest armament programs. Using some of the unspent stimulus money to retool several factories in Ontario and Quebec to make all the parts necessary for Leopard 2 manufacture.Since continued trade with Germany is uncertain Canada must have the ability to manufacture these things at home. To kick off these factories production, To government has placed an order for 30 Leopard 2C Tanks, and 12 recovery vehicles.

Canada fully supports Britain's attempts to slow the pace of armament and keep tempers low. Prime Minister Distaff has requested with President Obama to discuss trading relations and Canada's Commonwealth Obligations in light of tensions in Europe.

              Feb.19 2011.

Alright Dest. President Obama has anounced his intention to do all in his power to halt a war. However he seems disinclined to say excactly what he intends to do. Immediately he has laid down the law forbidding Canada, New Zealand and Australia to join a war. He has also made a suggestion that a embargo might be placed on the Uk and possibly all the major combatants if said countries choose to join a conflict. He did not outline in detail what he intended to with hold from the UK and other possible countries. The general feeling in Europe is that Pres. Obama may have his hands tied with an un-supportive congress and his promises are thus more or less void. In response to these challenges Denmark's Prime Minister, David Haazen, has expressed his country's unwillingness to bow to any embargo placed on them by the U.S. He also formally announced his alliance with France and Belgium. In an unusual show of force for a small European country Denmark held a military parade displaying new hardware including M1A2 Abrams tanks, AH-64 Apache helicopters, MLRS missle systems, and several large missile systems that remain un-identified. Denmark also announced the completion of 4 new brigade combat teams. These units are said to have been trained in peace time by U.S. Special Forces and Marines. They are well equiped sporting Mg3s, Fn SCARs, and various other weapons systems.

United Netherlands has declared its neutrality in the coming war.

In response to America's proposed embargos Australia has publicly declared its solidarity with the UK and its intention to support the crown forces in a coming war. Although slightly more hesitant New Zealand seconded the motion. Both countries have continued with their embarkation of military forces for Britian's use.

Belgium's rearmament proceeds as planned. A defensive plan has been proposed by a young defence specialist for a tunnel system resembling the Viet Cong tunnels used during the Vietnam war only on a larger scale and in concrete. The proposed plan would cost fairly little and could be heavily modified in the future while still being operable in a very un advanced condition. The defensive plan could be completed in a little less then a month. The Prime Minister's approval is needed for the plan to commence.

The work in Britian to get the mothballed the HMS Ark Royal, an Invincible class carrier, back up and running has proceeded rapidly and should be completed in 4-6 weeks. It has also been revealed to the world comunity that Britian has been working out a deal with Russian contacts for aircraft. The extent of this deal is still speculative. Britian has also begun a fairly small rearmament of the nations forces and not being a large task has nearly been completed. It has also been revealed that British troops are no longer carrying L85 bullpup rifle. It has been replaced by the H&K G-11. (Dashy I'm not sure how many carriers you were trying to re-mobilize. Wikipedia says that there were three Invincible Class carriers. One is still in service, one has been sold to turkey and the Ark Royal had been laid up.)

France has also begun limited moves to strengthen their armed forces. However heavy security measures have assured that little info is aviable to the European comunity. All that is know is that France has begun putting many of their major factories on a war footing and has begun assessing the ability to induct more recruits.

For info on canada see the above post by Distaff.

I will post dates in the titles of my SitReps. There is not a set time that passes between turns so make sure you know what day it is. Although there is no set order days I would be much obliged if you could check out the progress of the game at least once a week or more if you can handle it.

Prime Minister Dashwood Sat at his desk, fuming.

He Slammed down the Newspaper, "An ALLIANCE!" the MI-6 members before him quivered with fear, the Prime Ministers temper was well known, the last to cross him, a would be mugger, had been beaten to a pulp.

"How could the worlds most advanced intelligence service not know of this beforehand!" he drew heavily on his cuban cigar "This and that upstart president across the ditch, my day is NOT going well".

"Well Sir" one small operative said quietly "There is always ... Plan R".

"Yes, There is always Plan R, but even Winston or Thatcher would never consider THAT"

"Winston and Thatcher had American support, even if only weakly"

                  "Touche, get the phone ..."

Anger Over Presidential speech sparks demonstrations

Just one day after President Obama ordered Canada to stay out of any European conflict, thousands of Demonstrators gathered at the US Embassy in Ottawa.

RCMP officers kept the protesters back from the embassy fence, but that didn't stop several protesters from hurling rocks through the windows that look out onto Sussex drive.

                      Prime Minister Cancels Washington Trip

Prime Minister Distaff has cancelled his up coming meeting with President Obama, and has instead sent an open letter to the US congress and senate. though the Prime Minister's office would not disclose the letters full contents, CBC has obtained an excerpt:

                      Gentlemen,

We are each others largest trading partners, we share the worlds longest undefended border, and our nations have been close friends for generations.

Yet as close as we are, we implore you to remember that Canada is a sovereign nation , and that your president has no authority to order Canada to take any action when it comes to her foreign policy decision. You are on of our most trusted allies and we will tatke any advice you give us under close advisement.

We hope that like the true friends we believe you to be, you will respect any decision that Canada may reach on the current crises in Europe and not jeopardize the mutual trade that is so vital to both our nations wellbeing.

The letter has not yet been read in front of congress, and official US reaction is expected after Congress next meets.

Navy Calls up East Coast Reserves

The first bus loads of Naval reservists began arriving at HMC Dockyard Halifax today. The navy issued the call up order late last night, and has not disclosed the reason for it as of yet.

Though our reporters were kept back out of headquarters of Canada's Atlantic fleet for security reasons, furious activity could be observed aboard many ships along the Halifax waterfront, including the fleet supply ship HMS Preserver. The Fleet Oilers' obvious state of readiness have sparked rumors that the fleet is preparing for an extended deployment.

President Twitter3 sorted through his stack of papers that were sitting on his lap. The journalist coughed and asked politely if he was ready.

                        "Yes."

"As you know President, my newspaper (International Herald Tribune) is reporting that France has angered President Obama with their continuation of industrial reform. What are your thoughts?"

"France is a peaceful nation. France does not desire to provoke any neighbors or draw attention to herself. We desire a stable economy and happy citizens. If the USA and President Obama objects to that then we will stand for what we belive in."

"What of the reports of an alliance with Denmark and Belgium?"

"We have entered into a peaceful and friendly understanding with some of our neighbor countries. This 'alliance' as it is being called is nothing more than a show of support for fellow European countries who desire peace and freedom. France is not interested in determining what other countries can and cannot do. This 'alliance' is not meant to provoke any country. We are good friends with the people of Belgium and Denmark. This friendship we have is merely to stand as example to other parts of the world that we will work for peace."

"And what of reports that England is not happy with this 'alliance'?"

"I have not heard from Prime Minister Dashwood yet. I cannot see why he would object to peaceful countries strengthening their bond of friendship. We would certainly welcome him into our 'alliance' should he choose."

One of President Twitter3's secretaries moves over toward the president's shoulder and leans in to share some news. The president has a calm and confident look on his face as he listens to the news.

"I'm afraid we are going to have to end the interview. Please excuse me."

Getting up he walks toward the door and continues shuffling the stack of papers that was in his hands.
"War is sorrowful, but there is one thing infinitely more horrible than the worst horrors of war, and that is the feeling that nothing is worth fighting for..."

King Noodle looked at the fortification schematics for his country. They look good, but then so did the supposedly impregnable Fort Eben-Emael, which the Germans took relatively easily in 1940.

Having taken control of the perminantly hung Belgian parliament, he had berated both the Flemish and Walloons, and galvanized both halves of his nation into action (so he hoped). He had swung into action, building defences against land, air and sea attack. Hopefully the French would remain allies, so that left only the Dutch and Germans as potential foes. The former we could probably defend against, although as long term friends we probably would not need to.

That left Germany. Why is it always Germany?

                              Feb.22 2011

American Pres. Obama was forced to step down after a muslim extremist took a pot shot and managed to seriously wound the president. Although in stable condition it seems that the attack shook the former C-in-C badly. It was formally anounced that Joe Biden has stepped up into the White House. However congress has devolved into a frenzy of anti-democrat activity and Biden's place as president is not secure by a long shot. Biden has retracted his predecesor's demands agianst Canada and other common wealth nations but seems badly confused and has refused to say excactly what he intends to do about the situation in Europe. Biden himself was unaviable for comment having withdrawn to his vacation home in Vermont.

The Walloons and Flemish in Belgium have come together in an unusual show of solidarity. (also I forgot to mention it Nick but France has presented a good will offering of 250 million francs in thanks for the support vested in your participation in the alliance)

All over western Europe and Britian massive nationalistic demonstrations have taken place in favor of not necesarily war but very much in support of their current leaders.

In Denmark David Haazen continues to gain in popularity. In a intelligence leak an interesting piece of information has become aviable to the international community: Denmark has been in communication with Sweden drawing up deals on armament plans and other unspecified matters. Also a rumor has been circulating that Denmark may possess weapons of mass destruction. There is little evidence to support these claims. David Haazen did not comment on either matter. Sweden also did not make a comment on their supposed communication with Denmark.

(by the way guys great imagination in those posts.)
