Well,... total losses were 181 strength points (German) to 176 (Russian/Allied),... so the Germans gave as good as they got.

Well , we made it to 1944.

Not that the army seems to need any input from us.

It would be boring without you.

13/43 Update - Blood on the snow,... everywhere.

Pardon the delay in wrapping up 12/43 gang. After the Atlanta trip I had to get over to Denver and didn't get home until late Thursday.

The month is complete but my first attempt to post the German update timed out and I lost about 90 minutes worth of work. I'll have to start over again this evening. In the meantime here is the loss report.

    Losses

    German: 1 x 13-8 destroyed, 1 x 1-5-1 destroyed, 20 x 6-5 reduced, 1 x 10-8 reduced, 1 x 11-8, 2 x 13-8 reduced, 1 AP

    Allies: 2 x CW 8-10 reduced, 1 US 8-10 reduced, 1 Fr French 8-10 reduced, 3 x CW 9-8 reduced, 1 x US 9-8 reduced, 6 Str Escort lost, 2 Str Bmbr lost.

    Red Army: 3 x 9-6 Mech reduced, 4 x 8-6 reduced, 6 x 5-5 reduced, 2 x 4-4 reduced, 1 x 2-5 Tk Bde destroyed

The Western Allies and Red Army all launched very heavy offensives but the Germans have managed, once again, to maintain their lines. Except for a very heavy action in Galacia, which set off the heaviest tank battle yet seen, the winter battles did not see a major breakthrough. Still, the German army is in the field and fighting as hard as ever.

    12/43?
I don't recall getting or sending anything on that turn...

Have a good trip, and I don't mind it being slow, my own game is driving me a little bonkers right now.

    12/43 - Fighting starts anew

    G'day Gents,

12/43 is more than half complete with fresh offensive actions by the Red Army in Galacia that are causing some German heartburn but, as always, the Germans are hitting back and exchanging losses. The Yugoslavs and Greeks, supported by the Canadian and Poles have managed to cross the Sava River near Zagreb in Croatia.

I'll be away in the US again for this week but will be returning late on the 15th. I hope to post the next updates over the 16th and 17th. RL is extremely busy at the moment so the game may slow a bit until November.

11/43 - Danzig reduced to rubble

As the tittle suggests the focus of the limited fighting in early 11/43 focused on the port of Danzig which changed hands 3 times before the rain and mud brought the fighting a halt. There are wrecked Pz IVs and Vs, StuGs and Tigers on onside, T-34s, KV-85s, SU85s and SU152s on the other. It was very much an artillery battle with both sides dragging up all the guns they could fit into the area.

Despite the artillery losses were not excessive in Danzig or elsewhere with only a few units battered on both sides.

German update will be up tomorrow evening.

Riiiight... the w. allies already have more aircraft than the entire world did in 1945, don't you think?

Purist-- one map seems to be missing, the Baltic half of my front.

Well,... US and CW divisions are minimum 8 strength and the minors (Yugo, Greek and Turks) are line fillers,... so it isn't easy to bag those divisions. Of course,... historically, very few Allied divisions were destroyed outright so we're not off the mark by much. Replacements are the critical item.
